“The colors, objectivity and originality in the work of artist Elisa Martins da Silveira (1912-2001) are the starting point for the exhibition “Elisa Martins da Silveira”, which aims to review aspects of the cultural production of our country. Contextualizing the artistic production of the painter from Piauí alongside the artists of her generation broadens the understanding of her practice, highlighting the dialogue she established with her contemporaries and the plurality of her insertion in the artistic scene of the time. With the exhibition, the Museu de Arte do Rio proposes to revisit cultural history with a more inclusive look at artists who have been forgotten or neglected in the institutional circuit over the years.
